Welcome to Saddleworth Musical Society web pages !

The Society was formed in September 1958 and continues to be the only Society in the Saddleworth area performing a varied annual programme of choral and musical items usually with full orchestra.

The Society is a Registered Charity. No. 503676 and is affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA)

The annual programme normally includes:

* A show/operetta in October

* A Christmas charity concert in December

* A Spring choral concert in May

Other activities, including social events, are also held during the year.

We  pride ourselves on our choral ability, but like many other amateur  societies we always welcome new members, particularly tenors.

Non-singers are also welcome to help front-of- house, stage set building and other social activities.

* We have recently introduced a sponsorship scheme.
