Social Events:
A visit to the G&S Festival to see the “Parson’s Pirates” has been arranged. The date is Saturday 21st August 2010 at The Octagon Theatre, Buxton at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are priced £13.50. A meal (al la carte in the Pavilion Café at 1:00 pm) and a coach (£10 per head) can be booked and paid for through Kath Winterbottom.
A Summer garden party has been arranged at Annie & David’s on 14th August 2010. Details from Rose.
A Ceilidh will be held in Denshaw Village Hall on 18th September at 7:30 pm Supper of pot pie /cheese & onion & Pot bake will be provided for the princely sum of £7.50 per person. The band will be the “Mossley Tinkers” from Mossley Methodist Church
Merry Widow
The autumn production will be The Merry Widow, performance dates Tuesday 26th to Saturday 30th October 2010. Technical and Dress Rehearsals will probably be held on the Sunday afternoon (24th) and Monday evening(25th). The next Music rehearsals will be 29th July at Lee Street after which we will move to Greenfield Methodist Church for the 5th August and onwards dates until September (exact date to be confirmed later).
Advance notification:
The Christmas Concert will be held on Sunday 12 December 2010, supported by the Diggle School Choir (conductor Hilary Rea). The sponsored Charity will be the Royal Oldham Hospital League of Friends
A training day will be held on Saturday 5th March 2011(details to follow).
A Rodgers & Hammerstein Concert will be held on Sunday 27 March 2011
SMS will be performing the closing concert of the Saddleworth Festival of the Arts on 12th June 2011.
