Accompanist : Sylvia Hoare

 

Sylvia studied piano at the Berkshire Conservatoire of Music, Reading, where she gained her L.R.A.M. teaching Diploma. Soon after coming to live in Saddleworth, she joined Saddleworth Musical Society and has been our principal accompanist for 50 years. She concurrently accompanied Oldham Choral Society for ten years and then became the accompanist to  Saddleworth Male Voice Choir.

Harry’s musical interests started with learning the piano. This led to considerable demands at school and naturally followed on with becoming the accompanist for Rochdale Operatic Society and at 25 he was appointed Musical Director. He has been associated with many local societies including Hyde Light Opera, Woodhouses, Oldham, Saddleworth Players and Uppermill Stage Society.
